Coen Brothers Direct Green Spoof Ad: Clean Coal Cleaner

Brothers Ethan and Joel Coen best known for writing and directing the movies, "No Country for Old Men", "Fargo", "Raising Arizona" and "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" have taken up the green cause producing a  spoof ad for a new 'Clean Coal' air freshener.   We'll see if the buzz builds around their effort meant to bring attention to the fallacy of clean coal.  Their ad certainly delivers a poignant critique.  The tone shift at the end of the spot using the dark montone music and the black screen certainly shocks you back to reality.

Nice Shot Dwight: Right Place, Right Time

Here's a fantastic example of how you can piece two simple pieces of video into a commercial if the camera is in the right place at the right time. Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic shows his stuff on the basketball court. Great stuff.

Conan Goes Into Winter/Spring Hibernation

Conan O'Brien spent his final week in NYC trashing his set and working his way through many of his favorite routines. Former sidekick Andy Richter stopped by on Conan's final night. Conan will assume the position atop the NBC 'late night' lineup in June when Jay Leno relinquishes his role as host of the Tonight Show to Conan. We'll have to see what the network has in mind for the 10 pm hour which it has ceded to Leno's production company for some kind of variety show in the works. Will it work? Who knows but it's bound to cost less than the number four network's disastrous line-up of 'must avoid' programming.

A Great 'Music Video' from the Archives: All World Blues Team

Here's an all star lineup of blues musicians - the link was sent to me by my best buddy.  If you don't like it, you must be having a BAD day.  So who's playing, how about these men?  Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino Rocking the House.    That looks like Paul Schaeffer who heads David Letterman's band doing the intros.  Enjoy the music.

Brain Crasher British Anti-Drug Ad

Here's a great anti-drug ad from the UK called Brain Crasher.  It draws in the youth audience because it makes drugs look somewhat inviting, but then comes the second act.  The long lasting damage.  It becomes a chaotic jumble of sound and faces.  It makes its point nicely.  Let's see what you think.
