Animals in their Element; Museum of Animal Perspectives

Perhaps I should be posting about Haiti this week, but I need a break from watching non-stop news coverage.  Here's a wonderful collection of video of animals in their natural element.  I caught the fellow who is curating this project, Sam Easterson, on one of the network news shows.  His web site is called the Museum of Animal Perspectives and it shows a vast assortment of animals in the wild doing there thing.  This is one of the videos of a Borneo Rhino caught by Cam on a Night Trail. It is the first footage of elusive Borneo (Sumatran) Rhino nighttime in the rainforest of Sabah.  collected

Here's a link to the Museum of Natural Perspectives website which is chock full of all kinds of animals in their natural element.  One more piece of evidence proving that good video does not have to be highly polished and edited.  This stuff is throughly compelling.

Starbucks Love Project

Here's a great International Music project underwritten by Starbucks.  150 musical groups around the world sang the Beatles song "Love is All You Need" simultaneously in December.  This is the video created from the sing-in.  For every subscriber, Starbucks will donate 5 cents to Aids research.  It's all good, musically and charitably.  Feels a lot like our guy who did his funny dance from various sites around the world.

Crosing the Line... for Your Good

Here's a commercial that steamrolls across the offensiveness 'Maginot' line - despite it's noble intentions.  You may recall New York city's battle with fast food outlets trying to force them to publish the total calories in various hamburgers, sandwiches and meals.  This PSA attacks sodas and sugary drinks.  It vividly purports to show body fat being poured out of a can and consumed by a teen.  It's gross, but it's meant to cut into obesity.  What do you think?

Still Life Gone Crazy: Crazed Animation

Here's the story of real world meets the crazy minds of animators.  Rooted in an age old belief that small people could arise from decaying matter, the short animated film combines the high speed shots of a rotting still portrait of flowers, cheese, fowl, fish and fruits with some twisted animation showing what happens when the little humans run awry.  Pure insanity.  Fun to watch albeit pushing the insanity envelope.  The animation was created by the twisted production company Humble.

Bernardo's: Child Abuse

Rough stuff for Barnardo's.   A haunting music track combines with arresting and disturbing images.  This is visually mind blowing poignant stuff,  but alas, it's not a lot of fun to watch.  This is one in a series of captivating spots created by director Gary McKendry.  Barnardo's is one of England's leading charities, founded by Dr. Thomas Barnardo, whose work for troubled children began in 1867.
