Great Pictures Can Make Fantastic Video

Here's a great campaign for Alberta, Canada.  It's drop dead gorgeous video with a seemingly unlimited budget (note helicopter, dogsleds, gorgeous models, etc) and a highly skilled cinematographer to make it all look top drawer.  The music track is okay, although I believe this is the weakest link in the production.  I also feel like I want to hear some of the sound effects from a few of the scenes here.

Urban Snowboarding Fullout - World's Ten Best Tricked Out Boarders

Here's a mighty fine assortment of some of the world's best urban snowboarders doing their thing.  The song is 'Sail' by Awolnation.  This is a mixup of their videos that they submitted for a contest that's part of the Winter X games.

 

Yowza! New PETA Campaign: BWVAKTBOOM

Here's a very strange, albeit intriguing, campaign from PETA.  The announcer tells us that a roughed up, pantsless girl who is traipsing up a street with a neckbrace on is suffering from a new condition called BWVAKTBOOM - Boyfriend Went Vegan and Knocked the Bottom Out of Me.  It's an eye opener.  She's got a little smirk on her face as she tosses a bag of veggies at her b'friend as she enters their apartment.  Crazy stuff.  I guess it makes sense if you think it might promote vegans and not meat eaters?  As they say on FOX you decide.

Justin Bieber, Selena and Ashley Tisdale: Here's My Number, Call Me Maybe?

Justin Bieber, Selena and Ashley Tisdale all headline a simple new video by Carly Rae Jepsen.  It's a cute poppy song but what's interesting? Well it's moving stong on the viral video charts and there's no big budget here... simple camera setup with a bunch of them singing to a stationary camera.  Nothing fancy... no smoke machines, dolly or crane shots.... just a song and some silly group dancing.

Here's a charming little story... at least it winds up that way.  It's called School Portaits and was created by British Director Nick Scott.  Charming little idea.
